A parcel of land located on the Las Vegas Strip and set aside for the future facility of Wynn Resorts will be used for special events during Super Bowl weekend, it has been announced.
The lot:
The empty Wynn West lot of 38 acres, sited straight to the other side of Las Vegas Boulevard from the Encore and Wynn resorts, will host the Homecoming Series and Taco Bell Innovation Summit that will take place from February 8 to 11, throughout Super Bowl week, in compliance with the documents from Clark County. On a related note, during 2017, Wynn Resorts bought the aforementioned empty lot for $336 million. At the time, the firm was looking to construct a 3rd hotel tower that’d add 2,000 to 3,000 rooms to the firm’s portfolio in Las Vegas.
Furthermore, as for the entertainment, a DJ or a live performer is set to perform each day, with a calculated 2,500 to 4,000 attendants per night, according to the documents.
H. Wood, the hospitality group from California, owner of the popular place Deliah in Wynn, will play host to the yearly Super Bowl party called Homecoming in Las Vegas. In addition, Taco Bell has been a recurring event sponsor at previous Homecoming parties.
Drake, a popular rapper, has played on stage at every event during the previous 2 years in Phoenix and Los Angeles, individually.
When contacted to provide a comment on the upcoming event in Las Vegas, a spokesperson for H. Wood commented that details concerning performers and other plans will be announced a while later.
Temporary structures:
The plan is to build a sponsor tent of 12,000-square-foot and a main tent of 41,300-square-foot on the location. Also, it is planned that the temporary facilities will be constructed between January 25 – February 7. Demolition will start on February 13, after the upcoming Super Bowl weekend.
Relatedly, the aforementioned main tent is intended to get to the height of 73 feet, and the sponsor tent is established at 45 feet. In addition, a VIP waiting area, portable toilets and back-of-the-house areas are involved in the plans, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The aforementioned event will open its doors to visitors between 9 PM to 1 AM on February 8, 10 and 11. But that’s not all; because it will also be open on February 9 between 11 AM to 1 PM.
Beside the aforementioned party, there will also be many other events taking place on The Strip throughout Super Bowl week, and most of the special event spaces are planned to host some sort of party event during the said week. Some of the events are:
- formal NFL events: NFL Honors at Resorts World, Super Bowl Opening Night at Allegiant Stadium and NFL Experience at Mandalay Bay
- non-formal events: Sports Illustrated the Party at XS Nightclub in the Wynn and Michelob Ultra Country Club at Top Golf
