Louisiana Casinos Generated $194.6Million in Revenue in February 2024 to Continue Stable Operations

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board has released the gaming revenue figures achieved across casinos in the state in February 2024 to report the overall revenue level of $194.6 million. Such a level reached across four major gaming districtsin Louisiana reportedly represents a 1.0% increase in comparison to the same month of 2023 to testify about the stability of gaming markets in the state. Likewise, the majority of gaming districts recorded year-on-year revenue increases in the subject time period except for Lake Charles and Evangeline Racetrack and Casino in St. Landry Parish reporting a decline of 4.5%, and, respectively, 1.1%, according to a source.

Lake Charles District Generated $69.8m Regardless of Decline:

Regardless of the comparison with February 2023, Lake Charles casinos made $69.8 million in gaming revenue to lead the Louisiana gaming industry in February. As reported, Golden Nugget Lake Charles property made the largest contribution to the monthly result with $24.8 million in gaming revenues, slightly above the L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles that generated $24.6 million in revenue. Other casinos aggregated revenues of $20.4 million in the subject month to contribute 29% to the Lake Charles’ result.

Shreveport/Bossier District Casinos Shared the Cake:

Still, the source reports that New Orleans boosted its figures in February by 4.4% over the last year’s standing. In February 2024, Harrah’s New Orleans generated $23.8 million, or almost half of the revenues generated in the district to propel the growth. Boomtown Casino & Hotel and Treasure Chest Casino contributed $10.7 million and, respectively, $6.9 million to the overall figure.

Baton Rouge Saw the Highest Revenue Increase:

Although the Baton Rouge district reportedly posted the lowest revenue in the subject month with $22.8 million, the district recorded the highest year-over-year increase of 10.7% in February. The L’Auberge Casino Hotel’s revenue of $14.9 million accounted for around 65% of the total monthly revenue level in Baton Rouge to represent a key driver for the gaming revenue growth in the district in February.

Also, Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in St. Landry Parish generated $6.1 million in revenue to reportedly bring the land-based gaming operations to the overall $194.6 million level in February. The online and retail sports betting facilities generated $30.4 million and, respectively, $0.8 million in revenue to boost the gaming revenue level reached in Louisiana in February 2024. As reported, such a level represents a 1.0% year-on-year increase to confirm the stable gaming trend in casinos across the state.
