Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy Grants Approval for Parnitha Casino Move to Marousi

Greece’s Environment Ministry has granted its validation to the Marousi’s multi-million euro casino & hotel project, which involves a deluxe hotel and casino. That means that another obstacle on the way to its realization has been removed.

Layout of the Project Voria:

Called Project Voria, the entire project is worth 250m and should provide over 1,000 jobs. Additionally, it involves a casino, deluxe hotel, F&B services, shops, conference rooms, entertainment and recreational areas.

This fresh project, which location is close to the Olympic Stadium and The Mall Athens, will be realized by North Star Entertainment.

After receiving validation for its environmental impact assessment, the process regarding the license issuance has reached its last phase. As soon as the building licenses are issued, the construction of the entire project may start.

In addition to other things, North Star Ent. commented that the fresh establishment will “integrate harmoniously” into the surrounding environment and aims to evolve into a main attraction for the broader region.

Sustainability as a crucial feature:

Sustainability would represent a crucial characteristic of the entire project. In addition, it will maintain the small heights of the buildings, include the newest energy-saving tech to fight against light pollution and reduce effect on the environment, according to North Star Ent.

Relatedly, a major part of the casino & hotel will be covered with greenery and trees, and another part will allocated to the municipality of Marousi for the establishment of free public spaces for communal utilization in order to promote recreation and health and raise the overall quality of the lives of locals living in Marousi.

Beside other things, local authorities and investors predict that this new casino & hotel project will draw tourists to Marousi. However, among tourism branches, according to them, the primary focus will be on events and conference tourism.

In order to solve traffic problems and make sure that easy access is provided, the investment firm will develop and apply a special plan and road works will be created and applied by the investing firm.

In this regard, North Star Entertainment CEO, Yiannis Tsirikos, commented: “The project will incorporate the most modern environmental standards,  focusing on the creation of green spaces which will breathe life into an area that for many years was underutilized and degraded.” But he also added that the vision of the firm is to develop a flagship entertainment and hospitality destination that will provide clients one-of-a-kind experiences, according to GTP Headlines.

Relocation:

Project Voria, which was originally halted 3 years ago, aka in 2021, refers to the move of the Parnitha casino to the facility popularly called “Dilaveri estate” which is located in Marousi and which owners are the Laskaridis family, who also manage Athens Capital-MGallery, King George and Hotel Grande Bretagne. In addition, the said casino is the only one currently cited in Athens.

Furthermore, North Star Ent. owns the Parnitha casino, also called Regency Casino Mont Parnes. To better understand this, Regency Ent. is the primary shareholder of North Star Ent.
